Repurposing Your Clothing: An eight week series of workshops several times a year
Under the talented instruction of Ingrid Hamster, you will learn the art of re-purposing clothing to create new, usable items for yourself and/or for market. Anyone regardless of their sewing skill can attend. Bring your sewing machine, whatever equipment you think you will need and a project to work on as well as a notebook. If you are a fairly new sewer, this can be a very simple project. On the other hand, you may wish to alter some clothing you have or even use material from used, no longer serviceable clothing to make something new. We do have a couple of sewing machines on site if you do not have one.
Each week Ingrid will teach a particular skill for about a half an hour and will likely provide handouts and/or examples for these lessons. She will also circulate among you to assist you with your own projects, sometimes taking your challenge as a teaching opportunity for everyone.
As a participant, you can begin at whatever level you feel comfortable and progress at your own speed. Not only will this fun-filled program enable you to reduce pollution, your carbon footprint and contribution to landfill sites, it will also save you money and provide an opportunity for you to enjoy a new, very useful creative activity. Please let us know if you would be interested in taking this workshop series. The fee is $200.
