Creative Practice Circles The purpose of a CFCL practice circle is to help members explore a particular art form as contemplative practice, to stay motivated and focused and to develop their own creative voice. The circles include people of various levels of experience who encourage and teach skills to one another. Further, each circle is guided by a mentor who offers insight and suggestions from time to time.
Circle activities include opportunity to explore various themes and to respond to them in a creative way, to learn about the work of well known creative people and to develop skills related to the art form pursued by the particular circle. Circles follow a predictable monthly cycle that people who are not able to attend from time to time, know what is happening. Further, emails are sent out to members following each meeting to help them stay abreast of the circle's activities. Currently, the centre facilitates the following circles: Members are provided a monthly prompt which they may or may not choose to pursue. When an artist becomes alive in any person...he becomes an inventive, searching, daring, self expressing creature. He becomes interesting to other people. He disturbs, upsets, enlightens. And he opens ways for better understanding. --Robert Henri

Workshops & RetreatsFrom time to time, the CFCL offers additional, in depth opportunities for people to develop their capacity to respond creativity to the world around them by inviting our mentors or others to provide workshops and/or retreats. These are open to members as well as non members. The fees for these varies depending on what is offered.
Cooperative LibraryWe are gradually developing a library of books related to our activities which members may borrow for a week.
FeesAnnual Membership: $110
Yoga and Feldenkrais Fees are determined by the length of the series being offered. Subsidies are available to low income participants. Please call the office at 613-256-1771 or email coordinator at [email protected]. To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it. --Osho |
